Thanks to all. I had to watch Rocky Balboa today.

The Big Day

Thanks to all the well wishes on my historic day last week. I somehow still feel 15 years younger. Maybe not working, playing and drinking all the time helps. I was up in Northern Cal for four days of fishing & camping with my parents & bro having a great time in a remote area we used to go to as kids. Fishing wasn't as great as we are used to but we still managed to bring in 20 trout among the 3 of us fishing. I highly recommend McCarthy Burney Falls State Park, about an hour east of Redding, for a ideal camp ground, rushing stream, lake, and waterfall. A great way to ring in a new milestone era.

Then it was down to the Bay Area for a hosted party at my friend's house, Tony & Mona Keeler with a few friends, each of whom I've known for 20+ years. And since they were all college friends, the math adds up to a long fu*%$ time since we were in college. Weather was perfect, set up was easy and we enjoyed a great night all outdoors all night. We started with beers, sangria, prosecco with sprimp and killer fig procuitto crustini made my the very talented chef Caroline. We broke in TK's new outdoor kitchen arena & 60" bbq with rib eyes, cedar plank salmon, portobellos, homemade ravioli, and a fantastic homemade berry cobbler & gelato by Mona. Of course people had to get their stories in with a rountable session. We had some incredible red wines brought by everyone & finished the night with port and a great video by all four of the barney kids mocking Uncle Kevin. It was truely a great night and one I'll remember for the ages.

Did the long drive down with my Mom a few days later and picked up my Dad, bro & twin neices for a week long holiday in SD. With 4 adults & 2 3.5 year olds its a little tight at Cafe Kolmar. Thankfully, Disneyland, Seaworld & the beach will occupy most of the time. Does everyone know, its tough taking care of kids??
