Tokyo
Just back from a week in Japan. Had a good time and some incredible food (sukiyaki, sushi, tepanyake, yakitori, udon, ramen, tempura, etc) Hooked up with Paul Yasuda one night for dinner who was also out on a business trip. Had a great $80 Japanese steak (and that wasn't even Kobe beef, which was $350) at the Oak Door in Grand Hyatt in Roppongi Hills. Highlight of the trip was my 5am journey to the world famous Tsujiki fish market, where all of the sushi restaurants buy their fish. I highly recommend checking it out.
On my day out of Tokyo, I had a clear view of Mt Fuji while on the bullet train. Paul Yasuda & his wife, then girlfriend and I climbed it about 17 years ago on my first international trip. Pretty amazing even with Yasuda crying because of his altitude sickness. Another must do if you visit Japan.
