My May Blog

I know its been awhile, but I figure no one reads this anymore so who cares. But I had to post two really cool photos. Since my last blog and fun Vegas drinking business trip, I left the next day for a 5 country trip to Europe visiting Dublin, Ireland for 3 days, 3 days in London (more to come on this), and one day each in Rotterdam, Netherlands; Brussels, Belguim; and Stockholm, Sweden. Highlights were touring the Guinness Beer factory during the middle of a meeting then not returning to the meeting to go take a nap, Egyptian belly-dancers in Dublin, touring the Jammison Irish Wiskey distillery, mussels & white beer in Belguim, reindeer in Sweden. My weekend was spent in London hooking up with a former collegue and his family visiting a great farmer's market for an hour then sitting in a pub drinking beers all afternoon. Then meeting another friend for continued drinks out all night. The night was capped with a shot of Absinthe, the illegal liquor banned in the US and most countries. Quite an experience to then run around London after drinking ALL day. Pictures of the cocktail are below where they heat up and light on fire a substance on top of a spoon before stirring into the green liquid to immediately shoot. Do some research on it. It was always on my life's check-off list.

After this trip I was spent. Two weeks later, a trip to NY and I've been recovering for the last 3 weeks. Weather is in the 80's, perfectly sunny, packed beach and summer is in full swing. Hotel season has already started at 317 Kolmar.

My company went thru major RIFs, but I stayed standing and even got a promotion out of it. So, now more work with less resources and budget. Gearing up for some travel out to the East coast in June in between hosting my summer guests. Give me a shout so we can catch up.
